Islanders has a rich history in tourism in the Maldives. In 1990s, Islanders managed Embudhu Finolhu Island (now Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Maldives). The resort property was the first to build over-water villas in the country, now a trademark feature of all resorts in the Maldives. In 2004, Islanders won the tender to develop Kunaavashi, the first group of picnic islands leased by the Maldivian government.
Today, Islanders Group own and operate 2 hotels - The Park House, located at the city centre of Malé and Villa Capers, a luxury boutique hotel located in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
