Telecom | Raajje Online (ROL)

Islanders group was among the initial investors of ROL and maintains equity in the company.

ROL was and still is the only private sector internet service provider in the Maldives.

Wholesale | Timber Stores

Established in early 1990s, Timberstores is a trading arm for timber and plywood in the Maldives.

The timber venture grew into one of the 3rd largest timber wholesalers and traders catering to the majority of resort and construction customers.

Prime warehousing spaces in Thilafushi and Malé were acquired for the wholesale and sawmill operation along with sea transportation vessels.

Agriculture | Ambathalawa

The group has invested into 300,000 sq ft of land in the central region of Sri Lanka.

The plantation estate engages in organic farming of tea, coffee, cinnamon, pepper, mango, guava, avocado and lime.

The operation is overseen by our fully owned subsidiary in Sri Lanka, Islanders Lanka Pvt Ltd.

The group plans to invest more into the agricultural sector.

Insurance | Ceylinco Maldives

The group partnered with Ceylinco Insurance PLC from Sri Lanka to introduce the first private sector insurance arm in the Maldives.

The service offers ranges of commercial insurance policies and covers for local businesses.

Cruise Tourism | Marine Vessels

Islanders invested into 1 safari cruise and 3 passenger speedboats in the early 2004.

Bolero Safari was acquired for cruise tourism targeted specifically for travelers who enjoy fishing in the Maldives.

Additionally to the safari boat, the marine vessel division had 3 passenger speed boats that were operated on charter basis.

The group successfully grew and sold the business in 2013 to a third party operator.

Travel Agency | Make Plans Global

The group partnered with a leading Indian tour operator, Make Plans India as their local partner in the Maldives.

Make Plans is the leading outbound travel operator in the Maldives that brings more than 10,000 bookings to luxury resorts annually.

FMCG | F Beverages

In 2011, Islanders group acquired exclusive distribution rights to Maldives and Sri Lanka for Fashion TV Beverages.

The group distributed the F Beverage products to a wide range of customers in the Maldives including resorts, restaurants and supermarkets.

The operation was sold to an FMCG operator in the Maldives after 3 years of successful operations.

Luxury Retail | Duty Free

Islanders Luxury Retail Pvt Ltd was a venture that was established in the late 1990s.

The company invested in and operated 5 duty free shops in the international airports of Maldives, Seychelles and Sri Lanka.

The concession for watches, electronics and fashion was exclusively given to the retail operation with multiple brands such as Tag, Swatches, Giordano, Triumph, Cartier, Brietling and more.

Evince was established in 2002 as a downtown luxury department store in the capital city of Malé.

The store was a one of a kind store in the Maldives, with a wide selection of branded clothing and accessories.

Real Estate Agency | IGI

In 2006, the group registered a real estate consulting firm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in partnership with His Excellency Dato Kadir Deen.

The agency focused on identifying lucrative real estate investment opportunities in the residential space in Malaysia.

The firm successfully handled multiple investments into Malaysia from the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Seychelles and India.

We closely worked with YTL Land and Development Sdn Bhd, to promote multiple real estate developments in the Sentul region of Kuala Lumpur.
